Information about care
Food
The Skunk Cory is omnivorous and will accept a wide variety of small live or prepared foods. They should be given a balance of meats and veggies to maintain health and nutrition.

Sexing
The males have a pointier, more pronounced dorsal fin while the females tend to be plumper and dull in coloration.

Breeding
In preparation of breeding, the female will clean various locations throughout the aquarium. Once the eggs are fertilized, she places her eggs on her prepared surfaces. The parents should be removed from the breeding tank after all the eggs are placed. The eggs will hatch within 8 days and the fry can be fed fry powders or newly hatched brine shrimp.

Lifespan
This fish has a lifespan of approximately 4 years.

Origin
The Skunk Cory can be found in rivers through out South American countries such as Peru, Brazil and Ecuador.

Short Description
This is one of the more sensitive species in the corydoras group. If the water conditions are poor the barbels on the Skunk Cory can become infected quite easily. Keep them in groups of 6 or more, but be sure to provide plenty of hideouts to minimize stress. Do not add salt to an aquarium containing Skunk Corys because they cannot tolerate salinity.

I have not seen any aggression from my pair of skunk corys to the other corys. Not to the small tetras I have either. They will follow the school for a little sometimes, but no chasing. They seem to like swimming more mid-level in the water than most other corys.

They are very social and curious. Beautiful shimmer, cute elongated nose, and interesting markings.

Love them!

@Atlantis Child: Thanks a lot for your comment, these Cory’s are really peaceful. Somehow the record in the database was corrupted, so I updated it.
