Information about care
Food and feeding
These fish will accept all foods, quality flake, sinking pellets, and algae wafers. They have a definite liking to shrimp pellets and will accept meaty foods as well, even chopped earthworms.

Origin
South America; they originate from the Madeira River basin in Bolivia.

Sexing
Females are bigger and stockier; males tend to be a lot slimmer in their profile.

Breeding
These fish are very hard to breed. There are reported cases however so there is some limited information. The breeding pair must be conditioned on high protein foods for at least 2 weeks. Doing a cooler water change should then induce them to spawn. The eggs should hatch after 3-4 days and when the fry are free swimming, very small foods should be offered as they are tiny. Either feed them on a commercial fry food or Infusoria.

Lifespan
Expected life span for this fish is 3-8 years.

Short description
This Cory prefers a planted tank containing plants and driftwood; they should be kept in groups of at least 5 fish.
