Food and feeding
Can be fussy eaters but will accept flake or granules in time. Initially feed your Ambassis agrammus with live or frozen brine shrimp, daphnia and blood worms. Even when they are accepting flake foods, always include meaty foods in their diet.
Origin
Oceania; Ambassis agrammus can be found in the Northern Territory and Queensland.
Sexing
These are very difficult to sex but it is believed that the females will have a plumper body shape.
Breeding
As of yet, there are no reported cases of these fish breeding in the aquarium. In the wild they are egg scatterers and the spawning takes place over a number of nights.
Lifespan
The expected life span for Ambassis agrammus is 3-5 years.
Short description
It is best to keep Sailfin glass perchlets in small groups of at least 5 members. They do well in a planted tank but high water quality with regular water changes are a must.
