Food and feeding

Orangestriped squeaker will not compete with tank mates for food so provide it with sinking pellets or a quality flake when it is at its most active in the evening. They will also accept treats of live or frozen foods in the form of brine shrimp and blood worm.

Origin

Africa; Orangestriped squeakers are found in the waterways of Zaire.

Sexing

Females tend to be larger and plumper than the males but sexing with these fish cannot always be accurate.

Breeding

As of yet, there are no reported cases of Orangestriped squeakers breeding in the aquarium.

Lifespan

The expected life span for Synodontis flavitaeniatus is 5-8 years.

Short description

Add piping, caves and bogwood to provide hiding places, each specimen of this fish will require its own spot so bear this in mind when adding the décor. Keep Synodontis flavitaeniatus in small groups as solitary fish tend to be shy, especially if kept with larger tank mates.
