Information about care
Food and feeding
These fish will accept most foods offered, flake or granules but they also love tubifex fed to them as a treat.

Origin
Their natural habitat is South-east Asia (India down to Indonesia) where they are found in the river basins.

Sexing
There is no proven way of sexing these fish.

Breeding
As of yet there has been no successful spawning in an aquarium

Lifespan
If given the correct conditions, they should live up to 5 years.

Short description
The horse face loach becomes active at night and spends most of the daylight hours partially buried in the substrate. They prefer subdued lighting, so the addition of floating plants would be ideal. Adult sizes can reach 12 inches, so these fish are not for small tanks. Live plants should only be added to the aquarium if potted as they do root around in the substrate a lot.
