Food and feeding
Griems tetras will feed on most foods offered but will relish a treat of bloodworm or brine shrimp.
Origin
This species of Tetra is found on the South American continent, normally around Brazil.
Sexing
The males tend to be slimmer and smaller than the females.
Breeding
The breeding pair should be conditioned before being introduced to the breeding tank. In the breeding tank there should be fine leaved plants with very subdued lighting. 3 days after introduction the pair should spawn, up to 300 eggs will be scattered amongst the plants. The eggs should hatch after 24 hours and once the fry are free swimming they should be offered newly hatched brine shrimp.

A lifespan of 2 years should be expected if given the correct conditions.
