Ctenops nobilis are extremely difficult to keep. They require a low pH and the best of water quality. Males are very territorial and they can also be aggressive to the females. They are best kept in a well planted tank with a temperature on the higher scale. Many pet stores refuse to stock these fish due to the difficulty level of keeping them.
