Food and feeding
Feed Fairy cories with catfish pellets, algae wafers and quality flake. They will benefit from treats of blood worms and brine shrimp.
Origin
South America; Fairy cories are to be found in the Rio Tigre and Rio Conambo, Ecuador.
Sexing
When viewed from above, the females will have a stockier body shape and will be slightly larger than the males.
Breeding
Large regular water changes with cooler water should induce the spawning. The eggs will be scattered all over the tank, including the tank glass, once the spawning is complete, remove the parents or they will eat the eggs. These should hatch after 4 days; a couple of days later the fry will be free swimming. They can be fed on crushed flake food and newly hatched brine shrimp.

Fairy cories should be kept in small groups as they are a social species. Never keep the with aggressive tank mates and provide hiding places in the tank. The substrate should be sand or fine gravel to prevent damage to their barbels.
