Information about care
This is very amazing fish. It's blind. Even the newborns are born with eyes, they degenerate as they would be in nature. It's important to keep the tanks with the Blind cave tetras dark.

Even it's seen in shops rarely, this fish is easy to keep and it's recommended for beginners.

This fish is sooo easy to keep, it's ridiculous! I've had my two for over a year now with no problems. I might even have a breeding pair, fingers crossed!

I just bought 2 blind cave tetras and at first they were crashing around though they are getting used to the tank. However I got problems feeding them with flakes, I have to wait till it sinks to the bottom because the tetras are not going to eat them when the flakes are floating. When the flake starts sink to the bottom, the tetras started bumping the stones beneath (they knew that their foods are at the bottom, but they don't know where the flakes are!). Is there a better way to feed the blind tetras?

@Anonymous: Yes, there is a better way. Put the food on rockwork, wood or plants. Repeat it each day, and the fish will understand what’s going on. They will return to that place to find food.

Anyway, I wouldn’t mind as long as they eat.
