Information about care
Food and feeding
Not a fussy eater so use a quality flake or granules for the staple diet, they will also relish treats of blood worms or brine shrimp twice a week.

Origin
Asia, they are fairly widespread and can be found in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Sexing
Mature females have a stockier body shape and when full of eggs; they will have a rounder belly.

Breeding
These fish are egg scatterers so add spawning mops or java moss to the breeding tank for potential spawning sites. They can either spawn in groups or individual pairs; this is purely a matter of choice. Once spawning is complete remove the parents to prevent them from eating the eggs and 36 hours later the fry should hatch. A few days later they will be free swimming, at this stage they can be fed on Infusoria until large enough to accept newly hatched brine shrimp.

Lifespan
The expected life span for this fish is 3-5 years.

Short description
Always keep these fish in a small group of at least 6 specimens. They will require well oxygenated water and always use a tight fitting lid as they are excellent jumpers.

Also know as the Sind danio.
