Food and feeding
These fish will accept all foods but ensure that they will sink to the bottom before they are eaten by the other tank inhabitants. Catfish pellets, algae wafers are ideal. Frozen blood worms and brine shrimp will condition these fish.

Origin
Asia; they are mainly found in Sri Lanka where they occupy the River Kelani and the River Nilwala.

Sexing
There are no visible differences between the sexes.

Breeding
As of yet there are no reported cases of this fish breeding in the aquarium.

Lifespan
The expected life span for this fish is 2-3 years.

Short description
Try to replicate their natural conditions in the aquarium. They require fast flowing water which is well oxygenated. Hiding places must be provided in the form of rocks or wood. These fish are best kept in small groups to make them feel at ease. They are not an ideal fish for beginners as they require a very high water quality.
