Information about care
Food and feeding
Will accept all foods, quality flake should provide the staple diet, blood worms and white worms should be given as treats.

Origin
Asia; they are found in India and Pakistan.

Sexing
Males are a lot more colourful than the females, females tend to look drab.

Breeding
They prefer to spawn in caves; these can be provided by adding upturned plant pots to the tank. They will perform a mating ritual where they swim around each other in circles and lock mouths, after this they will enter the cave to spawn. The eggs should hatch in 2-3 days but it will be another couple of weeks before the fry are free swimming. Newly hatched brine shrimp can be fed to the fry.

Lifespan
The expected life span for this fish is 3-5 years.

Short description
Badis Badis prefer a well planted tank but leave open swimming areas. Hiding places should be provided with the use of rocks of wood. They are classed as a peaceful species but best kept in a species only tank.

Badis is very useful against snails.
